Oto has been my PT, training buddy and hiking partner for years now.

His knowledge of training techniques is second to none but his ability to customise this insight to individual requirements is what sets him apart.

Oto has helped me rehab from a number of injuries and usually I come back stronger than before by working on my technique and form and looking at alternative exercises to those that caused previous injuries.

He has also helped me to prepare for challenge hikes and endurance events with tailored training programs that build on my aerobic base, focus on power and strength in the muscles where it’s needed most and constantly checking on nutrition and diet in the run up to these challenges.

For anyone looking for a PT no matter what your objectives are I couldn’t recommend Oto highly enough.

As a 58 year old male who was a late convert to cycling, I was interested in building strength in order to improve my performance in the hills. I was not overweight and had always felt reasonably fit. I approached Oto Winkler in Westwood Sandymount and committed myself to 10 sessions of one hour each.

He took one look at me and knew that I did not need, nor could I really achieve, true strength increase due to my current condition. And what was that condition? I lacked all flexibility, elasticity and stabilisation. He introduced me to floor exercises and stretching routines that I found deeply embarrassing and extremely difficult to do. During many of them I would literally be whimpering in pain and discomfort but I knew that he was right in what he had planned for me.

What I needed was a routine that would benefit my life, not just my performance during cycling. In achieving this, with these exercises, I was naturally building strength and flexibility thereby getting ready to achieve my original goal. He gradually introduced free-weight and core strengthening exercises which offered variety and challenge.

The 10 sessions are over now and I cannot believe the change that has occurred in my body over the last 3 months. My flexibility has improved beyond recognition, my body has responded and I am now in better shape than I have been since my 20s. The intangible benefits of higher energy levels, self confidence and having a positive interest and activity to counter a busy work schedule are just as important.

I have signed on for another 10 sessions of 45 minutes to consolidate and progress.

Oto is a pleasure to work with. I wish I had met him 30 years ago.

Gravity Strength has been one of the most challenging gym classes I ever done. It really gets the best of yourself. The results in my fitness and stamina levels are very clear. Like any other gym class, there is a certain amount that each person has to put in. However, Oto Winkler, is extraordinary good motivating the class to get the best out of each one of us.

He seems to observer the people to find the right levels of breaks and intervals. As well, as finding new exercises to break routine constantly. He is calm explaining the exercise, the benefits, the routine and the time line. Also, and I find this the best, once the muscle fatigue arrives, he is there to tell what is going to happens if you just try a little bit harder.
