My name is Kristina I am a Pilates teacher, my passion is movement, mobility and to live life to the fullest. I love being outdoors and feeling the wind in my face, throw in a little danger,
challenge and adventure and you have my full attention.

The hardest part in the next coming weeks here in Ireland is not going to be to keep the body in
shape, it is going to be to keep the mind in shape.

We know our mental health and general well-being greatly improved with exercise. Find
something, anything that you really enjoy that involves physical activity.
Because it is so important that you enjoy it!

 

Different goals

 

Yes, we all have different goals. Get stronger, gain better mobility, tone, get faster, impress yourself and others, lose weight, fit into an outfit we like, bigger bum. Goals are good! Don’t get me wrong. Those goals are what will get you motivated to start, but if you don’t enjoy the process you won’t be able to make it a habit and if it doesn’t become a habit it won’t last.

For me, in a way, it’s easy to stay in shape, as it is my part of my job. I love what I do. But say when I’m on a holiday, and out of my daily routine what happens then? Do I keep it up? I do. But it is definitely a challenge and it involves me investigating time and commitment.

More than likely you have a full schedule already, so you need to make time. Ideally 1hour 3
times per week. But don’t get too hung up on this, as 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing. So be kind to yourself, try not to judge and criticise yourself. You don’t need more negativity in your life, praise yourself. You are showing up for yourself.

Ask yourself these questions:

Do you prefer starting your day with exercise, or would you rather finish your day with exercise, or maybe break your day in half and do it midday. It doesn’t matter what you read about what time is supposed to be the best time to exercise.

Whatever is best for YOU is the best time for YOU!

Gain mobility, injury prevention/rehabilitation, improve range of movement, tone, strengthen,
flexibility, weight gain/loss, improving cardio, socializing/ making friends, adventure or a
challenge. There are endless reasons and goals.


Remember WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT

The answers to these questions are so important because it will hopefully help you choose something you will love doing.


Tennis, walking, cycling, yoga, weight training, running, golf, martial arts, swimming, pilates,
squash, surfing and horse riding to name a few. This will lead to success, sustainability and the enjoyment you need to create a habit.


Small daily improvements over time will lead to gain mentality, physically and emotionally. Every day is not great, but there is something great in every day.
